The UK's Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) has awarded the Doha Metro with its esteemed International Award 2020

The Doha Metro, the Qatari capital's state-of-the-art driverless motro system, won the CIHT's International Award 2020
该奖项评审范围为来至英国及爱尔兰以外地区高速和交通基础设施或服务类杰出项目。
The award recognises outstanding examples of highways and transportation infrastructure or services from outside the UK and Ireland.
评委因其 “独创性和创新性” 而授予多哈地铁这一国际大奖，强调他们对 “施工质量、建筑设计以及材料和技术的使用、项目交付的快速性、项目内部和外部总体积极反馈等方面印象深刻。”
The judges awarded the prize to the Doha Metro “for its originality and innovation”, highlighting that they were “impressed with the quality of execution, with the architectural design and the use of materials and technologies, with the speediness of project delivery, and with the overall positive internal and external feedback, the project has received.”

Phase 1of the Doha Metro, operated by Qatar Rail, was recently completed in and includes 37 stations and 3 lines.

To ensure this large network of terminals maintains a cohesive identity as it grows, at the request of Qatar Rail, UNStudio created a Branding Manual, outlining our concept design in detail.
这一手册包含大量系统性设计指南，建筑细节和材料概述，以确保设计中的所有结构均符合我们的总体设计理念。
This manual contains an extensive set of design guidelines, architectural details and material outlines to assure all of the structures in the design are built in line with our overall design concept.
UNStudio 创始人/首席设计师 Ben van Berkel 解释说：“通过制作设计手册并使用自适应参数设计，可以创建具有多种变体设计的同时，保持所有变体设计车站仍然具有统一的品牌识别性。”
Ben van Berkel, UNStudio’s founder and principal architect explained: “Through the production of a design manual and with the use of adaptive parametric design, it has been possible to create a design with many variants, yet one which maintains a coherent identity through out all of the stations.”

Doha Metro was shortlisted for the CIHT’s award along side infrastructure projects in the US, Africa, Asia and Southeast Europe.

The CIHT is a leading voice of the highways and transportation infrastructure profession, and represents and qualifies professionals who plan, design, build, manage and operate transport and infrastructure.

This is the second year in which the CIHT has included the international category in its award programme.
